My priority was staying out of debt, so I used this site to maximize my scholarship potential. You should too! I didn’t apply to any “reach schools”, only schools were people with similar stats got a decent scholarship. My number one piece of advice is to prioritize staying out of debt over rank or prestige. I’ve worked at a law firm for two years and every attorney that I’ve worked with has regretted taking out loans! The results I got as far as scholarships are due to me meticulously choosing which schools I could get the biggest bang for my buck at.
Get started ASAP. The application process is fairly long; save yourself some stress by starting early.
Don’t waste precious time retaking the LSAT excessively. LSAT is a big predictor of success in law school but it’s not everything.
If at all possible, get legal experience before, after, and during the application process. It will boost your application and prepare you for law school immensely.
Be open to anything. I have too many friends and coworkers that limited themselves to a specific geographical location or minimum LSAT score and wasted so much time in the process.
Love the school that loves you.
