administration pendente lite

Read a random definition: deportation

A quick definition of administration pendente lite:

Administration is the management of a government, institution, or business. In legal terms, it can also refer to the management and distribution of property, such as a trust or a bankrupt estate. When someone dies without a will, their estate is managed by an administrator appointed by the court. There are different types of administration, such as ancillary administration for assets in another state, and limited administration for a temporary period or special purpose. Administration pendente lite is a type of administration granted during a lawsuit about the validity of a will.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Administration pendente lite is a type of judicial action in which a court takes over the management and distribution of property during a lawsuit concerning the validity of a will. It is also known as special administration.

Examples: An example of administration pendente lite is when a court appoints a special administrator to manage the estate of a deceased person while a lawsuit is ongoing to determine the validity of their will. The special administrator will handle the estate's affairs until the court decides who the rightful executor or administrator should be.

Explanation: Administration pendente lite is a temporary solution to ensure that the estate's affairs are managed properly while a lawsuit is ongoing. It is necessary because the rightful executor or administrator cannot be determined until the lawsuit is resolved. The special administrator appointed by the court has limited powers and is only responsible for managing the estate during the lawsuit. Once the lawsuit is resolved, a permanent executor or administrator will be appointed to manage the estate.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)
