courtoisie internationale

Read a random definition: Administrative Conference of the United States

A quick definition of courtoisie internationale:

Term: Courtoisie Internationale

Definition: Courtoisie internationale is a practice among different countries or courts where they mutually recognize each other's legislative, executive, and judicial acts. It means that one country allows the acts of another country within its territory, while considering international duty and convenience, and the rights of its own citizens. It is not an absolute obligation, but a recognition of good will and respect between nations.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Courtoisie internationale is a practice among political entities, such as nations, states, or courts of different jurisdictions, that involves mutual recognition of legislative, executive, and judicial acts. It is also known as comity.

For example, if a court in one country recognizes and enforces a judgment made by a court in another country, this is an example of courtoisie internationale. This practice is based on international duty and convenience, as well as the rights of citizens and other persons protected by the laws of each country.

It is important to note that courtoisie internationale is not a matter of absolute obligation or mere courtesy and goodwill. Instead, it is a recognition that one nation allows within its territory to the acts of another nation.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
