A quick definition of de certificando:

Term: DE CERTIFICANDO

Definition: De certificando is a legal term that means "about something to be certified." It refers to a writ that requires something to be certified, similar to certiorari. Another related term is certificando de recognitione stapulae, which is a writ that commands the holder of certain commercial debt instruments to certify to the lord chancellor the existence and terms of a statute staple wrongfully detained by a party to the bond. A statute staple is a bond for commercial debt.

A more thorough explanation:

DE CERTIFICANDO

De certificando is a legal term that means "about something to be certified." It refers to a writ that requires something to be certified, similar to certiorari.

For example, certificando de recognitione stapulae is a type of writ that was used in the past. It commanded the holder of certain commercial debt instruments (i.e., the mayor of the staple) to certify to the lord chancellor the existence and terms of a statute staple (i.e., a bond for commercial debt) wrongfully detained by a party to the bond.

This means that if someone was holding onto a bond for commercial debt that they were not supposed to have, the mayor of the staple would be required to certify the existence and terms of the bond to the lord chancellor through the use of a certificando de recognitione stapulae writ.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
