IDP

A quick definition of IDP:

Term: IDP

Definition: IDP stands for Internally Displaced Person. This means someone who has been forced to leave their home due to conflict, natural disasters, or other reasons, but has not crossed an international border to seek safety. They are still in their own country, but have had to flee their homes and may be living in temporary shelters or with friends or family. IDPs often face many challenges, including lack of access to basic needs like food, water, and healthcare, and may be at risk of violence or exploitation. It is important to provide support and assistance to IDPs to help them rebuild their lives and find safety and stability.

A more thorough explanation:

IDP

IDP stands for Internally Displaced Person. This refers to someone who has been forced to flee their home due to conflict, violence, or natural disasters, but has not crossed an international border to seek safety.

Examples of IDPs include:

  • A family who had to leave their home in Syria due to the ongoing civil war, but are still living within the country's borders.
  • People who had to evacuate their homes in the Philippines due to a typhoon, but are staying with relatives or in temporary shelters within the country.

These examples illustrate how IDPs are different from refugees, who have crossed an international border to seek safety in another country. IDPs are often more vulnerable because they are still within the conflict or disaster zone and may not have access to basic necessities like food, water, and healthcare.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
