LSDefine

Simple English definitions for legal terms

movable

Read a random definition: anaconda clause

A quick definition of movable:

Term: Movable

Definition: Movable refers to things that can be moved or displaced, like personal belongings. It can be something tangible, like a toy or a book, or intangible, like electricity. In some places, the law considers things that are not attached to land as movable property. In Scotland, movable refers to a nonheritable right. The opposite of movable is immovable, which refers to things that cannot be moved, like land or buildings.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Property that can be moved or displaced, such as personal goods. It refers to a tangible or intangible thing that is not attached to land and can be considered personal property. For example, a car, furniture, or a patent can be considered movable property.

Examples:

  • A car is a movable property because it can be driven and transported from one place to another.
  • Furniture, such as a sofa or a table, is also movable property because it can be moved around the house or even taken to a different location.
  • A patent is an example of intangible movable property because it is a legal right that can be transferred or sold, but it does not have a physical existence.

The examples illustrate that movable property can be physical objects that can be moved or intangible rights that can be transferred. It is important to distinguish between movable and immovable property, which refers to land and buildings that are attached to it.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
