Read a random definition: Consolato del Mare

A quick definition of pander:

Term: pander

Definition: Pander means to find customers for a prostitute or to encourage someone to become a prostitute for personal profit. It can also mean to say things that people want to hear, even if they are not true, to gain their support or favor.

Example: A person who encourages others to engage in prostitution or caters to special interests without any principles is called a panderer or a pimp.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition:

  1. verb - to find customers for a prostitute
  2. noun - a person who finds customers for a prostitute in exchange for a share of the prostitute's earnings
  3. verb - to cater to special interests without any principles, often for personal gain

Examples:

  • He was arrested for pandering after he was caught soliciting customers for a prostitute.
  • The panderer convinced the young woman to become a prostitute and then took a share of her earnings.
  • The politician was accused of pandering to the wealthy donors by promising tax breaks.

Explanation:

The first two examples illustrate the first definition of pandering, which involves finding customers for a prostitute. The third example illustrates the third definition of pandering, which involves catering to special interests without any principles. In this case, the politician is accused of saying whatever the wealthy donors want to hear in order to gain their support and contributions.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
