does it mean smth to interview with someone not in admissions? or is it j random
Legallynotblondeee
14:45
I have no idea thats what I am trying to figure out. I can't imagine it is a good thing

14:48
The interviewer also didn't let me ask her any questions, probably bc she wouldn't have been able to answer them. Whole experience is freaking me out now.

I haven't found anyone who didn't interview with an admissions person until I saw that message here

i heard this year a II is required for the A. I wonder if the interview pairings are j random or if they alr knew they wanted to admit u before the ii. regardless it is an amazing thing that u got the ii
Legallynotblondeee
15:37
I wonder why they brought in someone external
14:22
@Legallynotblondeee: I also had an external party conduct my interview

@OtakuHotGirl: omg really, how did you feel about it, I feel really bummed
[] Legallynotblondeee
16:15
@OtakuHotGirl: I'm just wondering why we got paired with external people as opposed to an admissions officer. It feel like maybe a bad sign, but I could be reading the tea leaves.
16:35
@Legallynotblondeee: I think not being able to get real answers to my questions was a bit disappointing.
16:36
But I'm trying not to read into it too much. I don't think they would waste resources (external or not) interviewing us if they weren't actually considering us. I think I'm just going to focus on being proud of myself for even getting an interview.

@OtakuHotGirl: You're right. Yeah my person also didn't give me a chance to ask questions either.
I had the same external interviewer. I personally don’t think it means much; she was taking a lot of notes, which gave me the impression that she was simply passing them on for faculty to consider as part of their review. So my read of the situation is that this is a resource issue, and not an indication of sending certain candidates to an external candidate.
Could be wrong, of course! We won’t ever know

Last two weeks we've seen people get ii invites within 7-10 or even 4 days of going complete. Any hunches on what this could indicate about the process? Seems different than the last view under the hood we got in the podcast episode with KH and MI from spring '23.

Considering the rapid iis recently, safe to assume those who haven't received ii and went complete before thanksgiving won't?
