The CC option is often pushed especially hard on low-income students, who are often eligible for good financial aid at 4year schools which they often won't be eligible for as a transfer student -- and CCs can sometimes be less-than-helpful about ensuring your credits will actually transfer properly to your desired 4year program
13:05
That's not even to mention the costs of things like transportation and to a lesser extent housing (if your situation prevents you from staying with family for free etc.)

Jumping in as someone who also went to a CC, the only reason why I was successful was because my CC had a transfer program with my local 4-year so all of my credits transferred. Typically you’ve gotta be really on-top of which classes will transfer to each university you’re interested in

Advisors at any school can be hit or miss but that’s especially true when they’re advising you on which classes transfer, I 100% recommend doing your own research instead of listening to advisors

i would heavily agree to that. My CC advisors made me take classes I didnt need for my major

13:12
dude you should read novelist as a vocation by murakami
baddestbunny
13:13
read it last night and found his perspective very motivating in terms of writing my essays
13:14
I read Murakami's running book. It was a good read as a runner
13:15
It's like one third memoir, two thirds running log
baddestbunny
13:15
did he talk about perving on girls in that one? someone told me he did
baddestbunny
13:15
he said that looking at girls was his inspiration for running or something?
13:15
A little. He thought the college runner girls in boston were cute on his run but that's it
13:16
he didn't say cute from what I remember. More like an abundance of youth or something like that lol
baddestbunny
13:16
I think it’s really cool that when he was thirty he decided he could write a novel and he just did
13:16
I liked the Murakami one where he talks about the first Brahms Piano Concerto
13:17
It's structured as an interview
13:17
Good read
