Jack I didn’t apply ED and I have one too 😭 what does it mean
@babycat: I mean I don’t think someone is smarter than me because of where I chose to go for undergrad, but I guess I don’t want to be looked down upon and I assume that’s what will happen.
ya worthless they probs started looking at ur app earlier then
since they review ed as a collective pool

@texaslawhopefully: In all seriousness some people might do that if they’re assholes but does it matter? Not everyone’s going to be like that, you just have to meet the right people
Yes, that’s 100 percent true, thank you :)!
The best was YLS sending me an email about some like public school grad club at the law school. It was unbelievably condescending.
no worrying ab apps on a friday night allowed

@texaslawhopefully: dude I went to that webinar and it was so funny watching the girl with a 165 shut down the other guy who said the only way to get into Yale from a state school is to max out your LSAT
@babycat: damn, I kinda wish I went now loll
babycat
21:34
agreed though the idea that state schools are so underrepresented at Yale that they’re a diversity group is insane
Exactly. The fact that YLS cares so much about where you went to undergrad, vis a vis faculty review, is awful imo

I will say that other grad schools at Yale aren’t like that!
Hey, it's doing better than most schools--so maybe it's not a joke.
90 people from Yale undergrad is insane, though. I feel like no other law school is that homogenous (even like H/S) and that has to be in part because of faculty review.

https://law.yale.edu/admissions/profiles-statistics nvm found an updated link this is pissing me off. how the fuck do you not admit one student from the flagship school of your state?? wtf????
It is truly ridiculous
JumpySubsequentDolphin
21:44
who did the person w a 155 fuck to get in there
JumpySubsequentDolphin
21:44
and can I fuck them too
21:47
they probably had the 4.27 gpa lol
babycat
21:47
I just have so much trouble believing that not one person who attended public school in CT was as qualified as the 90 yale students they let in. This is so regressive
JumpySubsequentDolphin
21:47
babycat you give umich vibes
babycat
21:48
umich is going to waitlist me. I ran the numbers and my odds of getting in go up significantly if my LSAT is three to four points lower lol

poppin in before heading out - my undergrad isn't represented by any t40s lol rip me
@babycat: For sure. I do think this is why faculty review is a terrible idea. The faculty have to be unbelivably biased towards (a) Yale undergrads (b) other top schools.
If you did really impressive stuff and have high stats, then why does it matter that you went to a state school??
