Anyone know what movement is like on Fordham waitlist ? Like when does it start moving how much movement does it get ? Also is there a preferred waitlist ?
17:33
all are 1-5%ish
Man idk if I wanna stay on this HLS WL
Ik they're gonna slap me with no aid
17:46
You should, if it converts (small chance but you got other As) then some schools in the t14 will up their scholarship offers to you.
17:48
Also do you know for sure ? Is that what the calculator says? If yes, is good problem you have enough money/assets/income you dont need aid
You know I'm independent from my parents and all. Got a dependency override thru college but I have a feeling they won't honor it
also I don't have contact with my parents to get their info if they said no. So Imma get $0 if anything
17:50
Have you asked how estranged parental situations work re total asset consideration?
17:50
I bet they do the same thing they do for 29+ people where it doesnt count lol
There's an appeal process but seeing how CLS, NYU and others are handling it. I don't imagine a school that bases everything off need will be any nicer
17:51
Well you knew that before you applied lol
True true. It didn't sound bad when I applied. I thought I'd be able to work with the schools easily too. but now that I have offers and worked with some schools, this just doesn't seem likely to work out
We'll see how I feel in April when I decide to write a LOCI
17:54
@ImpartialLion: cuz it is too early to start negotiating lol
17:54
Wait til around/after deposit deadlines
17:57
Re success with other schools. But for HLS, no idea how they consider what you are talking about but i know parental assets are disregarded entirely if you adopt yourself on paper. You may want to look into that for other reasons because idk how the long process is, but you can apply for financial aid each yer

year
Wow, thanks! I will
18:00
Yeah there is an emancipation thing to and a few other legal guardian/disavowed separation type things that can help you no longer have that tether for things like this.
18:00
too*
I actually looked into it when my parents n I were going thru it but I don't think it works once ur an adult. I think as far as I can go is independent taxes (which I have) and independent FAFSAs (also have for the past 4 yrs). But the rest seems shot
I'll look back into it tho and lyk
18:02
Good luck, have read about it before as a trick rich people do so their rich millionaire kids get free tuition from fin aid for need based aid as they qualify on paper even tho their parents are actually still their parents lol For a legit situation like yours, should be a walk in the park.

@DigiFartHoe: Hello! Want to say while we may have bonked heads in the past, u give good advice and I like your blunt and straightforward communication style.
