I live in chicago rn and im ready for change
@windyMagician: I want to go to NU, so I wanted to be optimistic. Proof comes from the fact that KJDs in NU’s optimal stat range (172-174) are roughly just as likely to receive an acceptance as all applicants, but accepted applicants with substantial FTWE are significantly more likely to attend. Few schools feature this trend as prominently as NU does, so it seems self-evident to me.
15:54
I am mostly saying it as further evidence that the date change doesn't mean much.
15:54
sorry not date change... you know what I mean
That’s fair. TBH, sometimes laziness actually comes across as being a more organic human emotion in a process which people try to optimize the hell out of and can benefit you. Thats how things went with UChicago for my application and I (surprisingly) received an II
15:55
@jackfrost11770: what did that assistant dean from NU tweet?
the problem is schools want you to be genuine but “no not like that”
they want a worksona that feels genuine
jackfrost11770
15:56
uhhhhh something like "i have a new account. might post updates here or there." but he hasn't posted since the last admissions cycle he only does during they period
jackfrost11770
15:56
*that
@KnowledgeableRitzyWasp: Couldnt have said it better. It’s such a weird jumble of balancing.
15:57
@KnowledgeableRitzyWasp: Yes that is so true. two of the three places i have heard back from so far were apps I didn't go as tryhard on
15:58
then there is Yale where I never stood a chance
My one friend who has gotten in almost everywhere (KJD with a 175) and got interviews at H, Y, and C wrote about how he took a long time to learn how to read, but he wants to be a lawyer and has a very very niche mission that he is genuinely passionate abt. Something about it struck the right balance
16:00
they love a niche mission
I wish I was more specific with my interests. Unfortunately, I’ve gotten a very clear idea of what I want to do with my legal career three months after submitting applications.

me just writing about generic pi

16:02
ok yall someone said that their NU status disappeared and they submitted two days ago. they always have release dates for ED on friday so most likely they're getting the system ready and that's why it's glitching
HopefullyInLawSchool
16:03
Anyone going to a school outside the t-20 here ):?
windyMagician
16:03
that portal has been hella glitchy all cycle
@jackfrost11770: They have done 12/15 ED decisions for a while, but it fell on a Sunday this year, so it had to be moved. No idea when it’ll be, but I’m hoping it’s soon

HopefullyInLawSchool
16:07
i see so my hype around t-14 and its made me question if I shouldve studied longer for the LSAT or if I shouldve applied to all t14 schools even tho im below medians
16:08

16:08
Fordham law is in Lincoln center
16:09
