Guys I need help. I applied to my dream law school as a nearly applicant through a 3+3 (senior year will be L1 instead of at my undergrad and credits transfer back to fulfill my degree). They only gave me 10k in scholarship out of a 62k sticker price. Their median gpa and Lsat is 3.6 and 157-160. I got a 3.72 and a 153 and they admitted me as an international law scholar and paid full tuition for a summer program they offer. I'm just like thinking to myself is this an average scholarship offer in general (I know that my LSAT is below) but is there any way to ask for more money when I don't have any other comparative scholarship offers?

@GodsPlanUltimately: if you raise your LSAT or GPA you will be more competitive for negotiation. I would retake the LSAT. Maybe also apply to some other schools for leverage

Genuinely if you’re set on attending this school retaking the LSAT will make things so much easier for you. There’s a lot of space to improve from a 153. Give it a shot

I applied ED and because of the program I'm in (applying as junior in college and need the L1 credits to transfer back to complete my degree) I can only apply to this school. My gpa will most likely be 3.8 by the end of this semester (hopefully).

@GodsPlanUltimately: I would retake the LSAT and apply next year honestly. Paying 50k per year in tuition alone for a school with those medians seems like a scam.

I think it would be good for you to ask yourself if this is your dream school objectively or only because of the convenience of the 3+3 program. Don’t take on a ton of debt that will take you years to pay off just to save a year of school.

you are grieving your life by applying with a 153, there are very few people on earth who can’t at least hit 160 and enjoy the significant financial privilege you will get compared to 153

@bunnynoise: I would say it is definelty objectively and to just because of the program. I can't imagine going anywhere else. I may have to rethink retaking the LSAT but I've already taken it 3 times and I'm not sure how well that will reflect. I'm just beyond blessed to have been admitted (positively glowing) but stressed about how to pay.

If it’s your dream school then it’s your dream school. You’re above their GPA median, if you could get an LSAT above their median you’d be in a good place for scholarship money

@KnowledgeableRitzyWasp: I'd say my study processes are pretty sold and I consider myself a studious person. I've taken about 10 and yes I do keep a journal. I will say that the first time I took it my exam was delayed 5 hours due to computer failure. I see where your coming from and I do agree.

@GodsPlanUltimately: if the test just doesn’t gel with you that’s fine. it’s just bumping up your score a few points would offer you much more scholarship money. going from below median to above median could be the difference in 100k+ of debt
