…(how you felt, thought, deliberated, spoke up, etc). Interviews: Kept it personable, friendly, and tried to really connect with the interviewer. I tried to have fun! Applying earlier meant As earlier –> earlier finaid –> more time to negotiate! It feels like crunch time right now (late March) and I can only imagine…
Initial reflections: I think that HYS outcomes are very difficult to predict. Others felt a bit more straightforward. For me, Harvard interview was more direct, more formal, and less friendly than the Chicago interview. For HLS, I would prepare thoroughly and be prepared to give a strong “why law school?” answer…
…arrived 12/16 Northwestern–WL last year. Michigan–Darrow interview invite arrived 12/17. Received full Darrow $$$$+ on 2/24. Berkeley–reapplicant, WL last year. **NYU– **Accepted last year, no $. Reapplied with a few sentences in my Furman scholars application about being a reapplicant (and being a Furman finalist…
…I submitted a LOCI each month and completed the interview. I received a feeler email on 7/28, I responded to it and then received a feeler call that same day. Received offer of admission on 7/29. UVA - I went UR2 end of Sept, read that you could send in a LOCI if you hadn’t heard back from them in months so I sent…
…of my HLS R, I got that after what I thought was a great interview and having already been accepted to SLS, but it still really hurt and threw me threw a loop. Not shocked about my UCLA WL I knew I should’ve sent in a LOCI or applied for Achievement Fellowship, but out of the options I have available I likely…
…reviewing it as a digital document. 4. Don’t stress the interview. Pick only a few things to focus on in a “Why X” essay or interview question, and roll with that. Don’t compromise depth for the sake of quantity. Explain how you can benefit from that school specifically and maybe how the school can benefit from you…

…is an awesome way to make students feel wanted. I interviewed with Dean Andy in a group-style Zoom meeting. The questions were simple and light-hearted, and everyone I know from the group got an offer of admission. The scholarship was very generous too, easily outnumbering my offers from every other T14 school, even…

…this to help much, but it kept getting referenced in my interviews and was always a good response for the “leadership” question Wrote all the optionals/supplementals Framed “Why” essays by doing one paragraph about why the school is a good personal fit, another about why academically. …hold email) and a similar one to Columbia (6 weeks after interview with no decision). I did not submit LOCIs to Penn, Michigan, or Chicago. Interviewed with UChicago, Northwestern, and group interview for GULC
Wrote every optional essay possible and a Why X to avoid YP outside the T6. Did not write any DS. If you get an HLS interview, make sure you’re really jazzed and emphasize that it’s your first choice. That’s what I think got me WL’ed, since my interview otherwise went really well.

Wrote all optional essays including Why X for Berkeley, Duke, and UVA. I did not include a Kira interview for Northwestern. Didn’t interview with & didn’t personalize PS for Columbia.
