What follows is a comprehensive explanation of my application path to law school. I originally created this document as a PDF for a group of incredible mentees. Time will be your greatest asset or your worst enemy- I began preparing two years before the 2024 application cycle. I’ve divided ‘my story’ into nine…

Admitted to University of Notre DameGeneral advice: Talk to lots of attorneys about their experiences to set expectations Listen to admissions & law-related podcasts to get your head in the game Help others going through the process Make spreadsheets to track everything (applications, cups of coffee with attorneys, LSAT prep, etc.) Beware of Reddit.…
Just remember, time is not linear. Your law school of choice has already been decided, you just haven’t gotten to it yet. Relax, and enjoy the ride.
Scores are just that: scores. The LSAT may seem like the only thing that is important in your life but it does not define your worth as a person. Both our former president and vice president went to law schools whose medians are 160 or below. They still managed to accomplish incredible achievements and reach the…
I started this page to keep family and friends updated on the admissions process, but am keeping public incase it might provide any helpful info to others!
Update 05.11: no, Penn is not a better law school than Harvard. Please look at employment stats over USWNR. Please be aware of regionality issues. #happyrankingsday More accumulated advice: https://www.reddit.com/r/lawschooladmissions/comments/qf400l/machos_guide_to_admissions_an_effortpost_by_a/ I am remarkably…
Top-Line Advice (for what it’s worth): -Be authentic, trust your gut. -Don’t waste time trying to write what you think admissions officers want to hear. -Don’t count yourself out of anywhere. -Work for a while before going to law school. LSAT: -Took a lot of practice tests and reviewed wrong answers extensively.…
Once you’ve submitted applications, GO TOUCH GRASS. There’s nothing that refreshing your status checkers every 30 minutes will do for you — just go do something you enjoy! And yes, I’m waiting on my cooldown right now
I applied for the class of 2026 as a KJD; I got in to USC with $$$ and a few other schools. As a re-applicant, schools seemed to be less interested in me (no mailers/fliers/outreach) and schools that claim to care about re-applicants gave me less desirable outcomes than the first time (eg. Michigan WL in 23/24, R in…
Try to look beyond the rankings and choose the right school for you, which may not necessarily be the highest ranking one. If the school has pathways to help you achieve your career goals, that’s all that really matters. It’s not worth a lifetime of debt for a little prestige which may or may not even benefit you,…
Never mind—GULC came back a week after deposits to offer $45K a year! Appeal scholarship offers, and anchor high! Hoya saxa☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️ Final decision came down to BU and NDLS since GULC gave no aid :( Goal was international law, ideally public international law (probably out of reach—womp womp) or alternately private…
Applying during the 2024-2025 cycle. Currently in grad school and will update throughout the year. Used fee waivers for all application fees and all but 10 CAS fees. Did not negotiate with any school since most got back to me after I was happy with other offers.
As a re-applicant, I recommend reviewing my profile from the last cycle before proceeding (please refer to user “ModernSeoul”). Comparing the two, you’ll notice that I was much more successful this cycle than last, with over 8x more in scholarship money and 8 straight acceptances (compared to 0). I think this came…
Some extra info about my application cycle: Duke (WL) - Colossally slow. As a result you are better off applying before Thanksgiving as they are fairly strict in reviewing applications chronologically. Seems rare to get accepted if you apply after the end of November. Attended an info session prior to applying.…
My biggest piece of advice is to know yourself and know your story. I entered undergrad blind and thinking I wanted to pursue another career path entirely, but as I grew and prioritized knowing myself more, the path I wanted to take became clearer. How pillars of my personhood and aspects of my lived experiences…
I own the WE category in my field. No one has more expertise than me when it comes to being a bum. Here are the reasons: I didn’t choose the bum life, the bum life choose me. I was not born into a rich family. Because there are no such things as rich bums. I was so delusional I started hallucinating during the LSAT,…
R&R if you are not happy with your first cycle results. I only got into Temple the previous cycle and WL at 3 T-14s. I knew I could do better, so I studied for the LSAT for 3 months, got a job in the legal field, volunteered, and refined my essays. Apply as early as possible, especially if below medians. I think the…
