Admitted to University of New Hampshire-Only 5 weeks to study for LSAT, taken only once -Biology BS (3.29) to Biology PhD but dropped after one year (3.885) -My C&F was a very minor traffic ticket that was only reported to a few schools based on guidelines -Email schools for waivers. The worst they say is no (or not respond)! I was able to solicit…
There is no advice I can give someone other than do better than I did on the LSAT. You can’t change your GPA, you can only explain (not make excuses for) why it was not as good as you had hoped. I was lucky to get into the UNH Hybrid program that is conducive to full-time work. If I had my heart set on a full-time,…
Apply wide. Really wide. Embarrassingly wide. Then let the dust settle and make the smartest boring decision available. Prestige is a fine thing until you’re paying for it with money you don’t have chasing outcomes that aren’t guaranteed. The humble path taken confidently beats the prestigious path taken anxiously…
I should have retaken the LSAT for a higher score. I also reached out to the schools to talk about Res Life opportunities, NSU offered me a position that came with a monthly stipend and an additional $20,000/year scholarship. This is in addition to my merit scholarship. So reach out to the schools, some may have…
Just have a really high LSAT score. I’m a New York Press Club award-winning journalist who has written for Rolling Stone, the Washington Post, the Atlantic, and many other outlets. I’m a decorated combat veteran. I graduated summa cum laude with a 3.98 GPA. My memoirs were recently published by a prestigious British…
Police Officer in Louisiana. Undergrad in Texas with a BS in Criminal Justice. Wrote any optional essays available. Studied for the LSAT for approximately one week for a few hours a day before work but really did not want to retake. Applied late because this is my first attempt at the process and I didn’t know…
It was like pulling teeth to get Ohio State to look at my application. I knew it was a reach, but still. I emailed them, received a response a few days later that they would check with the admissions committee about my application, and I was rejected the next morning. Disappointed that I waited over three months for…
You only need one A!! Dont compare yourself to others, you have your own path and all you need is for one good school to take a chance on you and give you the opportunity to thrive there! Super humbled and grateful that I got into my dream school with lower stats, you can do it too! Dont count yourself out because…
Feel free to hit me up for LEP or military background experience.
In general, not bad results with my stats. Retaking and reapplying next cycle.
Getting 4 points higher on the lsat than someone whos gpa is .5-.6 points higher becuase they majored in Communications and watching them get higher scholarships than me is infuriating. If youre in college, major in art, NUMBER BIGGER is all that matters, no degree of difficulty is weighed.
If they let you write Why X in your PS or in the application itself, write it out (or at least think it through) because it can help you figure out why you like the school other than ranking or employment rate. Don’t be scared, you will get into your dream school. I believe in you!
I am a re-applicant from the 2019-2020 cycle. (153–> 160) (re-applying during this cycle made me want to roll over and diieeee) anyways The only schools I am re-applying to from last cycle are Cardozo and Loyola. Those outcomes last cycle were: Cardozo WL Loyola Rejected
Don’t do what I did… Take care of business while you are young.
Make your supplemental materials (Resume, Cover Letter, Essays, etc.) as strong as possible. These could be the difference between scholarship amounts.
Sometimes life just turns you upside down and you have to really look at yourself to decide what you want. Even then, you still may not know. Patience may be a virtue, but that doesn’t mean I have any. (waiting to hear back from schools)
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
