Apply early and to as many schools as feasible to give yourself options! You never know what could happen if you are not willing to take a risk and apply to some reach schools. Do not be afraid to take the LSAT more than once if you know that you can do better and increase your score. Be genuine and tell your story…
I have a lot of work experience. I have worked at a small sized personal injury law firm in central Washington for four years. I was also very successful there. My job was to negotiate cases and I settled thousands of cases for millions of dollars. My soft is that I grew up poor (homeless for many years). My mom was…
Listen to Rejuvenation by JJ Sansaverino, it’s life changing.
I concede that statistics–GPA, LSAT–matter greatly; however, don’t let this hold you back from aiming higher. I spent ample time on drafting my PS, DS, and “Interest” statements; telling each admissions committee my unique story that didn’t necessarily project an answer to “why I’m a good fit.” I simply told my…
R&R from last cycle. Applied broadly, wasn’t set on any geographic region, just wanted a great fit with my average stats. Wrote essay for Tulane, but a big reach…. wasn’t surprised by the R. Wrote a why OU and had a great interview, which probably helped me get in as I was around both 25ths. Attempted to negotiate…
I knew my GPA would be lower than many applicants so I chose to apply as early as possible to get ahead. I feel this worked out in my benefit and allowed me to also receive scholarships that I might not have been offered later on if I waited. I also had extensive work experience in a court setting and feel this gave…
Applying to a few schools for this cycle late after doing better on my first LSAT than I thought I would! Will apply more broadly and earlier with probably a higher GPA for next cycle after teaching in Spain for a year if this cycle goes poorly :) Update 3/2 - Interviewed at my top choice, went super well! hoping…
lsat score is apparently very important lol So, if your LSAT practice scores aren’t turning out well, my advice would be to see if your schools will accept GRE. Then take a good ole practice test any see if you are any better at GRE. If you are finding greater success with this test, I’d recommend ONLY taking the…
I focused really hard on my personal statement and other materials to paint a very clear picture of my goals in law school as well as important aspects of my undergraduate career that highlighted areas of growth. Also, I was heavily involved in extracurriculars, which I think showed that I could handle high stress…
Started off college as a computer science major, realized it wasn’t for me and made less than stellar grades. Switched to International Security Studies and did very well. Unfortunately, old CS grades pulled my GPA down nonetheless. Had a couple internships in Tribal politics and a Tribal prosecution office and…
My cycle didn’t end when I got a lower LSAT score on my second try and yours won’t either:)
Just remember, Big Law is awful. I mean, just absolutely awful. I don’t know what will happen with my law school application(s), but going to Harvard or Cornell or Duke - there’s one desired outcome for most of those students - to go work at a massive corporation with other attorneys. Don’t let that shit get to you.…
The world needs less lawyers.
Start visiting schools earlier if you can afford it!
“How did a girl like me get into you?” - Pink Pantheress regrets: -Apply early. Not kidding. -Take the LSAT again if you think you need to/can do better. Medians are rising.
Hey! Hope this is helpful. Unfinished MA in Europe, BA from flagship state university that isn’t well known outside of sports. Work in nonprofit going on 2 years, large amount of volunteer work as well. One very prestigious scholarship during undergrad, but it’s less well known in the US than it could be.
Go to therapy during the application cycle. Trust.
GPA is out of 4.0 scale. I am a history major currently going into my Senior year of University and studying for the August and October LSATs! I hope to post some of my scores and positive vibes as I go! I also plan on taking the GRE, and will post how that affects my acceptance as well.
