Took the LSAT twice with one cancellation (got sick during the test). Scores were 158, cancel, 160. Applied with a diversity statement about chronic invisible illness, and a personal statement on my experience growing up with a parent that struggled with addiction. Included an academic addendum for two breaks in my…

Admitted to University of Nevada—Las VegasIn general, not bad results with my stats. Retaking and reapplying next cycle.
-Picking which school is harder than waiting for admission decisions -Write all the essays and make sure you do them well, not halfway and just calling it good enough -Consider how the school fits you more than anything else, because a school may be number one in rank but that doesn’t mean it’s the best for you
Expectation is the thief of joy… come into the cycle with an open mind, and you just might be pleasantly surprised. I can tell you, 100%, I felt more comfortable fitting into UMiami’s culture than ND’s (in terms of wealth and pretentiousness). My safety school turned out to be the greatest gift. Go Canes!
You can do this! Don’t let anyone tell you can’t! I applied to UNLV, Santa Clara, USF, and McGeorge with my original LSAT score which was a 163. Then later I scored a 168 in January and asked the rest of the schools to un-hold my application and review it with my most recent score.
If they let you write Why X in your PS or in the application itself, write it out (or at least think it through) because it can help you figure out why you like the school other than ranking or employment rate. Don’t be scared, you will get into your dream school. I believe in you!
Take time to study/reapply/get your shit together if need be! I feel a lot more ready to start law school now (2022) than I did when I applied for 2020. I’m looking at better scholarship offers, have more work experience, and more dedication to this path–good luck!!
Don’t spend every second of you day on LSD or reddit, I regret making this mistake. Decisions will come when they come, and literally nothing you can do to change that.
Your stats are not the definition of thy self, and all that matters in the end is how hard you can work, and why you are working that hard. Continue on a path of greatness and you will see the light at the end of the tunnel.
To shine like Joan of Arc, you must be prepared to burn
The best experience, job, or extracurricular is one that involves helping others. The common mantra is “Don’t set yourself on fire to keep others warm,” but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t carry an extra blanket to offer.
Wrote “Why X”’s for my top choice schools, diversity statements when they were accepted (not a URM but Southeast Asian), and a GPA addendum. Initially applied with 15high LSAT. Retook in January with current score.
I am a single teen mom which helped explain my low GPA to admissions committees. First Lsat was a 159, gpa when applying was a 3.14. I sent in an updated transcript in apr 21 for waitlists
You probably have a better chance than you think you do, so don’t let fear of rejection stop you! Half of acceptances are above the median, but half are below too.
Take a few years, get a job, save up money. That way you can donate a building to your top choice. LSAT: 160 (4/21) -> 162 (6/21) -> 162 (10/21) -> 169 (1/22)
Control what you can control.
Unsolicited increase from Baylor. Solicited increased from Pittsburgh. Negotiations rejected on all other attempts (Richmond, PSU Dickinson, Temple).
