It’s easy to get tired of the cycle (I know I have), just try to remember why you wanted to go to law school in the first place and keep pushing till the end!

Admitted to Case Western Reserve University**Attending University of Minnesota off the Waitlist ** Applied in November -> WL on Jan 24 -> LOCI on Feb 9 -> A on April 6. This was totally unexpected but it came with enough scholarship money to make my decision easy. My LOCI focused on their IP concentration, my interest in staying in Minneapolis after…
Apply as early as you can with your best foot forward Write every optional - if you don’t have anything to say, you don’t want to go there and shouldn’t apply Actually visit - I thought I was in love with one school until I saw it and hated it And most importantly… Being interesting pays off!I did not have a…
queer woman closer to 5 years of WE than 9. work was in political campaigns (local to national and everything in between) wrote a gpa and lsat addendum (retook the lsat for waitlists and got a 166 - likely not enough to move any needles) only wrote a LOCI for fordham bc i committed to dozo, signed a lease, and…
You can do it! Schools want students who will enrich their classroom environment. Sell your story. Show them how much they need you. LORs and ECs can make up for lackluster academic performance, although it will not make up the difference for the top-ranked schools. That being said, every school has more applicants…
Start early, don’t cheap out on resources. You can do it!
Plan to take the LSAT multiple times. There’s not a cheat code, study the test but also spend time reading dense and complex material and learning logic – you want to eventually be a lawyer, after all. You don’t need to apply everywhere. Don’t check this site 20 times per day like I did. Get help with your…
LSAT 159 GPA 2.43 2022–23 cycle
Attending Case Western Reserve University
If your GPA is like mine shoot for a 160. I did not want to take the LSAT again. I liked 7sage for LSAT prep. Dont worry about time limits until you understand most types of LR and LG question / game types. RC just read carefully and pretend it is an interesting reading passage . I studied full-time while working…
submit your apps early* lol (◕︵◕) waited until Dec/Jan for most apps for new LSAT result.Better to apply early with your bad scores than late with your good- ones! Write academic addendum and then email them with your updated score. Personal statements, diversity statements & optional essays mean* EVERYTHING *if…
Plan to take the LSAT and apply earlier than you think. Especially for KJDs, pushing essay writing, resume work, requesting LORs, etc. too far into your senior year will likely make things difficult to manage alongside the rest of your academic and work life.
Apply wide. Really wide. Embarrassingly wide. Then let the dust settle and make the smartest boring decision available. Prestige is a fine thing until you’re paying for it with money you don’t have chasing outcomes that aren’t guaranteed. The humble path taken confidently beats the prestigious path taken anxiously…
I focused really hard on my personal statement and other materials to paint a very clear picture of my goals in law school as well as important aspects of my undergraduate career that highlighted areas of growth. Also, I was heavily involved in extracurriculars, which I think showed that I could handle high stress…
Apply as early and broadly as you possibly can. If you’re not BigLaw-or-bust, don’t go to the fanciest school that accepts you. Go to any school with adequate career outcomes that you personally like and can most easily afford. If you won’t be satisfied outside the T14, be prepared to R&R no matter your stats.
Non-KJD applicant with unique softs and personal experiences around music and healthcare. Undergrad in music performance and post-bacc program in medical science. Also had an MBA at time of application. Looking at IP law (with contacts in boutique IP law firms making my law school decision less consequential than it…
prepare and apply early! I didn’t prepare well enough for the LSAT so I took it again in January, so I didn’t go complete at most schools until early February. Stats are obviously not everything in an application, but I saw people with stats very similar to mine who applied much earlier in the cycle get in and get…
If you are even thinking of applying, please remember what matters: YOU. This is about what you want, what will make you happy, and get you where you want to be. Be sure to drink lots of water (and coffee), sleep plenty, and take care of yourself however you need throughout your cycle. I wrote all optional essays…
Being a “super-splitter” is terrible. 0/10, would not recommend. I went to a community college for a few years after high school and didn’t really go to classes, leaving me with a 1.2 GPA. After spending seven or so years working I went back to school and pulled out a 3.7. Shoot that shot. Apparently, shooting that…
Your story matters. Get a higher LSAT than me. Start studying earlier than me. You know what you have to do.
