My cycle took 158 days. Go Blue Devils! Here’s some unsolicited advice: shoot your shot. I was pretty convinced that T-14 admissions or scholarships would be largely unattainable for me because of my below-median LSAT - but remember, numbers are only part of your application. Admitted to University of MichiganYou can do anything you put your mind to. I was devastated when I got my LSAT score back, but I applied anyway. This is proof that you are more than your LSAT score, so don’t opt out of applying just because you don’t have a 170! I believe in you :)

Reapplicant. Last year is https://www.lsd.law/users/creep/MindlessUsefulFox. Focusing on my essays and not applying as a KJD helped a lot the second time around.
Thoughts on particular schools UNC “hold” is a soft waitlist, and unless you demonstrate visit-level interest after receiving it, it will turn into a real waitlist- Address went long at Michigan the Thursday/Friday before the week I got the A Gray bar at WashU within a week of decision GW date did disappear but I do…
Make your LSD.law account private! I believe some school were able to tie my application to my LSD profile based on stats and application dates/timeline.

Stats are 90% of what matters. At non t14s, they’re 100% of what matters. My LSAC GPA was significantly worse than my transcript GPA because I had to retake a class that I sorta quit on my freshman year (oops). This absolutely hurt my cycle, maybe more for scholarship amounts than for acceptances. Essays and resume…
Most of what worked for me as a splitter–I assume that’s why you’re reading this–is what you would expect (difficult major + writing ability + significant work experience) and doesn’t lend itself to “advice.” I did, however, think about how to address a downward trend in my grades. My GPA is low because of my final…
170 —> 180 I stopped keeping track at some point, but here are a few lists I worked on from the beginning of application season until around February. The first list is of when people reported getting decisions from various schools back here and on Reddit (days of week and times of day in PST). This does not show…
Worked in state government as an aquatic biologist for about fifteen years, so I knew from the get-go environmental law was my main focus. Nearly all my statements - and in most cases I completed every optional essay available for each application - centered on environmental advocacy and my experience within the…
Not a ton of wisdom here you can’t find on reddit or podcasts or whatnot. Don’t be afraid to retake your LSAT. Shoot your shot. Only apply places you’d be happy to attend. Disregard rankings, or better yet create your own: https://myrankbyspivey.com I guess my only real insights are for fellow low-income applicants.…
was PTing at 169-174, but got an absolute monster of a games section on my second official, and thus I got a 166. Pretty unhappy with that score. May retake in April if no solid acceptances by then. UPDATE - 11/30/2023 - going to apply to a couple schools but likely a retake in February and then rinse and repeat for…
After 20 years out of high school, a full professional career, and raising my 18-year-old son as a single mother… I am finally attending law school. I just graduated from undergrad in May 2023, so my journey is very different than most, but my advice is all the same… shoot your shot, especially as a minority or…
Cycle Recap: Strange cycle with all kinds of ups and downs. Incredibly excited for Duke,- thankful for my scholarship, and looking forward to what’s next. The location, size, cost, proximity to DC market, reasonable integration into the university, culture, name recognition, and tight PI community were all critical…
Cycle Recap Yale (rejected 3/7/23) - BIG reach- Columbia (reserve on 4/18/23 and broke my heart, withdrew 4/24) - UG alum. Wrote Why Columbia and optional essay on Equitable and Inclusive Environment. Sent LOCI/job update on 3/20/23. Inquired about admissions timeline due to upcoming deposit deadlines on 4/10/23 and…
As a December applicant, while I don’t think applying earlier would have changed my outcomes for most schools, I do think it would have saved me the stress of having to commit to a school prior to hearing back from all the others! I would recommend applying in October if you can, but if you can’t it’ll be okay! I…
