Admitted to Villanova UniversityThis whole system is a scam designed for the 1% to win every time (and get richer in the process), but here we all are buying into it; spending ≥1 year of our lives, our energy, and stressing out so that we can play the game too.
Just give your best. That is all anyone can ask you for.
Be kind to yourself
Don’t pay for law school! Apply to a wide variety of schools and take the offer that maximizes job outcomes and minimizes debt. Good luck!
Your essays matter more than you think they do Write a GPA addendum Be realistic but it’s also okay to shoot your shot!
Submitted LSAT addendum to most schools Applied to all schools with a 159 LSAT; retook in April 2021 to try and get off waitlists WL by Villanova on 2/24/21, accepted off WL on 5/3/21
Make sure your roommate remembers when you’re taking the LSAT and that his band isn’t practicing while you take the exam… it can be extremely distracting and detrimental to your score.
Be kind to yourself. You don’t know what a law school is looking for. Just because a school doesn’t accept you, doesn’t mean you are not a good applicant or that you didn’t work hard!
Went into the process being okay with a lot of debt, came out of it realizing that a full ride in a market I want to be in means a big deal to me. Did not write any LOCIs whatsoever.
Believe in yourself. You are a much more capable applicant than you think. Stay focused on the end goal and let everything else fall into place. I look forward to seeing you succeed.
I am a First-generation American and have been working as a paralegal in Big Law since right after graduation. I applied as early as I could in the cycle, which I think helped.
Apply early as possible. Sending a LOCI right before my decision at 2 schools may have been the difference between a WL and R. Tour campus before deciding
If your GPA is substandard, it doesn’t matter how you spin it in an addendum. You either need work experience (preferably 2 years), a 170+ LSAT, or ideally both.
WF has a “non-binding” early decision program, and that’s what I was accepted to with a 45k scholarship. deferred myself to regular decision and was waitlisted
good luck for those of yall coming in!
The waiting game is tough. You will get through it. Even if you do not get into your first choice, whatever happens happens. It will be for the best.
LongGrotesqueDachshund left no wisdom for posterity… (◕︵◕) Except this: it’s all fucking random. Also being old and wise actually does help.
