Admitted to Yeshiva University (Cardozo)I wrote almost every optional statement, a diversity statement detailing how my background has shaped my experience /will influence my future legal perspective, and used GPA+LSAT addenda to balance my app as a splitter and explain a 16 point increase on the LSAT.
LSAT 174 GPA 2.41 2022–23 cycle
Admitted to University of California—Los Angeles
Take the LSAT seriously. Started with 152 diagnostic. 169 on the first official. 174 on the second official. Wrote a PS about my work in the aerospace industry and how it connects back to law school. Hired one of the law school admissions consulting services.
Originally felt weird making my stats public and sharing it, but I honestly feel like it’s better to have good karma and give people the same resources I’ve been using. Mental health issues in undergrad, super splitter, just hoping for the best!
If a school has an optional essay, WRITE IT. Negotiate scholarship offers, but do it wisely-prioritize leveraging other offers, being polite and realistic, and emphasize why you want to go to the school and why the school wants you.
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

I was in the Peace Corps and was therefore given fee waivers for every school but Cornell and Columbia. Cornell said they granted waivers for Returned Peace Corps volunteers but they never got back to me.
-wrote programmatic contribution for ucla -did upenn’s values essay -vandy interview on 11/11 (requested in app a week prior to interview date) -published undergraduate thesis in liberal arts field
Went into the process being okay with a lot of debt, came out of it realizing that a full ride in a market I want to be in means a big deal to me. Did not write any LOCIs whatsoever.
Try to visit schools and picture if you could see yourself living there. It’s 3 years of your life, so the choice of school can go beyond just the school itself, it’s life too.
Mid-January ~ early March Applicant. International with US undergrad, super splitter, and CF issues regarding GPA. Will update with more info once cycle is near-complete.
Wrote diversity statement, gpa addendum, character and fitness addendum. All were of high quality, reviewed by multiple people and worked on tirelessly for months on end.
You’ll never regret giving it your best! Also, apply early. Even if it works out, the stress of waiting until the very end to apply and receive decisions isn’t fun.
Engage and demonstrate interest through meetings with admissions officers, student ambassadors, and info sessions
Poor undergrad but 4.0 in grad school
My goal is to create transparency around my law school application process in the hopes that others with similar issues may find this in the future.
