Talk to the Admissions Office. Many of them will be happy to answer specific questions on how to make your application more competitive or what they’re looking for in a personal statement. These perspectives are invaluable for an application. Remember that every time you engage with a school (whether virtual, in…

Admitted to Texas A&M UniversityDO NOT APPLY ON THE DAY APPS ARE DUE!!!! If you take nothing else from my experience, every day you turn in an app before the deadline helps your chances. One of my good friends who had worse softs and GPA with a slightly higher LSAT applied 3 weeks before I did and had way more options. I believe everything works…
If you can, apply early. I decided late in the year to go to law school and thus I didn’t give myself enough of a chance for some of the schools and their merit aid options (I also had a limited time to study for the LSAT—6 weeks using Khan Academy—which was not ideal). However, I’m very proud of my waitlists…
Only apply to schools you would be happy to attend! While I applied to a variety of safety, target, and reach schools, I truly would have been happy attending any of these institutions. Apply early! Secure LORs in the summer. LSAT is king. While my score is fine, I know it was a central factor in why I was…
if you take the LSAT for the first time in 2018 apply then instead of two years later in a global pandemic lol apply as early as you can would be my biggest recommendation. put T3 softs as I’d won a prestigious Man of the Year award at my undergraduate school, available for all students by nomination. Maybe a…
I have wanted to go to Notre Dame for as long as I can remember (my dad is alumni and would constantly take me to football games and pep rallies). It was extremely hard to turn down Florida and their full ride, but I wanted to take a risk and go to my dream school even though it is more expensive. Additionally,…
Wrote Penn core values, why Michigan, and Georgetown top 10. Later added a why UVA to my app in December
Extremely grateful for the decisions I have received and for being done with this process. If I had to start this cycle all over again, I would have cut down my school list. Although I received fee waivers to every school I applied to, there was never a realistic chance I would have attended some of these schools.…
Do NOT apply as late as I did. My results are due to extreme luck.
I went to an utterly irrelevant state undergraduate institution and did virtually nothing of note after graduating, but I had an (apparently) interesting story of self growth to tell of my 5 years post college. Study hard for the LSAT and write your ass off on the essays and you’ll surprise yourself.
Reapplying in a few years for HLS. If you get an HLS II, don’t brick the interview like me
It’s not over till it’s over.
Some random advice: Try for an early A at a safety, even if your application is unpolished. Look for info on LSD to find which schools historically respond early. Once you bag an early A, just skip any school that’s worse - save time, money, stress. Also serves as a proof of concept that your personal statement is…
Wrote supplementals for all my apps. Did any optional interviews. I know I want to practice in Texas, tailored my school list towards that. 3/23 Update - It was always UT, everywhere I applied was for leverage to negotiate with UT. I have a lot of personal ties to the university and Austin that were hard to give up.…
Girl, this is gonna be a tough few months Update: 2/27/24 Holy shit it was a long few months. Two more schools to go. UVA and UCLA. It has been a very stressful process that has cost me a lot of hair but almost done :) 3/10/24 update UCLA waitlist a week or so ago. Almost done. UVA is ghosting me sadly or I would…
It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.
Ask for fee waivers if you don’t get them. No point in being squeezed by both law schools and the LSAC if you don’t have to be. Schools are very generous with them. (And ask early, it can take a while to hear back sometimes) Cornell-bound! Good luck to all, spend more time studying for the LSAT than I did.
I have received application waivers from a majority of schools on my list. Have a little over 5 years of total work experience. Official cold diagnostic 150 (5/6/2022); did not study for roughly 1 year and took another PT cold and got 155 (1/28/2023). Actual test score 168 (6/10/2023).
