Admitted to University of Colorado—BoulderBe kind to yourself. You don’t know what a law school is looking for. Just because a school doesn’t accept you, doesn’t mean you are not a good applicant or that you didn’t work hard!
Believe in yourself. You are a much more capable applicant than you think. Stay focused on the end goal and let everything else fall into place. I look forward to seeing you succeed.
Make your grade point average as high as you can. Take the LSAT at least two times. The LSAT takes work, but you can get better. Get people to proofread your personal statements.
Take an LSAT prep course. They can raise your LSAT by anywhere between 5 and 15 points. That is the difference between going to a school closer to 100 and a school closer to 15.
I am a First-generation American and have been working as a paralegal in Big Law since right after graduation. I applied as early as I could in the cycle, which I think helped.

Be meticulous in logging all dates into LSD so future 0Ls can be effectively neurotic. Also – follow your gut. If you know you could do better on the LSAT, take it again.
Don’t get caught up in how other people are studying for the LSAT! Stay focused on yourself and your own progress - trust the process!

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a good LSAT score - just organization and honesty. Rankings are not everything. Enjoy the learning experience.

Know your strengths as well as your weaknesses. Originally applied to nearly all schools in September with a 160. Retook January LSAT for my current 167.
