Stats are 90% of what matters. At non t14s, they’re 100% of what matters. My LSAC GPA was significantly worse than my transcript GPA because I had to retake a class that I sorta quit on my freshman year (oops). This absolutely hurt my cycle, maybe more for scholarship amounts than for acceptances. Essays and resume…

Admitted to University of Texas at Austin…shot maybe? Put in as much time as you can on the LSAT Retake until you’re at a score you’re happy with, or at/above medians of the schools you’re excited about. It is the best use of your time for getting into law school, and worth more than any amount of time you spend working on your personal statement (but do…
…My goal was to get into YLS(middle finger) hence the retake, but I think this could have led to some YP at some schools. Write good essays that have a strong why law, especially if you’re KJD. KJDs routinely make up the majority of applicants who underperform their stats and it’s almost always due to lackluster…
…about my goals and where I wanted to end up. Decided to retake just to see if I still had some left in the tank. Got a 171, which is still somehow borderline for T-14, but Reddit + LSD helped me see that it was worthing giving it another shot! This year’s stats: LSAT: 171 CAS CPA: 3.84 Work Experience: 3ish years -…
SEVERELY better cycle compared to 2022-2023 for me (◕_◕). I did not retake the LSAT, just strengthened my application parts and applied in November instead of February.
…under their ED program, I never would’ve been able to retake the LSAT to be inclined to apply to UT. In every regard, I would’ve chosen UT over WashU, but with a 16-mid LSAT, I knew I only had a realistic shot at WashU. Again, sometimes pain can be a blessing in disguise.
Consider retaking the LSAT and reapplying next cycle if you’re not happy with your results this time around. That’s what I did, and it’s worked out splendidly. :)
…got too lazy to continue studying for my scheduled October retake because I started working full time and cancelled last minute. It’s in the past now, but I wonder if I could have gotten a couple points extra if I studied a bit harder/longer to get me at or above some of the other T14 medians besides Duke and…
…you’re PT’ing at your target score.- Don’t be afraid to retake 16highs-17lows. Every point matters. I’m about 90% sure I wouldn’t have gotten into UT if I had called it quits at 168. If you’re still in college do your absolute best to earn all A’s. If you’re a KJD and can tolerate it, consider working for a year or…
…UR3 1/18 4 takes to get a 172. If you’re considering retaking the LSAT (and you have the time to study and think you can improve your score based on PTs)… **DO IT! **I know people say schools “look down” on multiple LSAT scores…. but they definitely look down on low/below median scores more.
Deferred from WashU to get some additional work experience and hopefully raise my scholarship through an LSAT retake.
Jan. 2021 LSAT Flex (considered retaking, as I would like to minimize debt - however, I told myself that I would be satisfied with a 170+ before going into the test and felt that I should maintain that perspective. My PT average over the 12 or so tests that I took leading up to the January administration was a 171,…
…see how it would go, always knowing that I might have to retake and reapply. But, I’m so shocked at how my cycle has gone so far!! I put a lot of effort and intention into my PS. I wrote every optional statement that I could to demonstrate my writing. I have a master’s degree (3.9 GPA), was a DI NCAA Athlete and…
…for my resume, essays, and interviews. A higher LSAT retake score than any of my practice tests also helped. Regardless of background, constructing a clear narrative, showing confidence, and demonstrating professional skills can make a huge difference. N=1 advice: Study longer for the LSAT than you think you need.-…
