semilatepplicant3's wisdom
This cycle obviously didn’t go as well as I hoped it would. However, my application had a number of substantial weaknesses, and I’m happy someone saw my value as an applicant.
You can get into law school with a 2.X GPA/as a college dropout. That said, be realistic about your goals. Consider whether the school you apply to can actually help you achieve them.
My biggest regret is not spending the money on a private LSAT tutor/personal resume editing. It’s a smaller upfront cost versus a longer term gain in admissions options/scholarships.
For me, 7sage’s predictor was more accurate than my own personal predictions. If you have above average softs, it may be less accurate for you.
You can send a Why X essay (or as the adcoms call it, a “Letter of Intent”) even if the school does not specifically ask for it. If your “Why this school” is not in your other essays, you should definitely consider it.
Check dates for admissions informations sessions early, and go to them! Face time helps show interest, especially in person if possible.
My 0L Booklist: 1L Of A Ride, The Paper Chase, Law 101 by Jay Feinman, The Bramble Bush, Just Pursuit by Laura Coates, and Just Mercy
Good luck, you’re going to be an amazing lawyer!
