Simple English definitions for legal terms

accidentalia

Read a random definition: compurgator

A quick definition of accidentalia:

Accidentalalia: This is a fancy word that means the extra things that people agree to when they make a deal. These things are not really important to the deal, but the people still want to include them. It's like when you and your friend make a deal to trade toys, but you also agree to share your snacks. The snacks are not part of the toy trade, but you both still want to include them in the deal.

A more thorough explanation:

Accidentalalia is a legal term that refers to non-essential terms of a contract that the parties have agreed upon. These terms are not necessary for the contract to be valid, but they are included to clarify certain aspects of the agreement.

For example, if two parties are entering into a contract for the sale of a car, the price and delivery date would be essential terms of the contract. However, the parties may also include accidentalalia such as the color of the car, the type of tires, or any additional features that are not necessary for the sale to take place.

Accidentalalia can also refer to incidents that occur during the performance of a contract that are not essential to the agreement. For instance, if a contractor is hired to build a house, accidentalalia may include the type of paint used or the brand of appliances installed.

Overall, accidentalalia are additional terms or incidents that are not necessary for a contract to be valid, but are included to provide further clarification or detail.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)
