attested copy

Read a random definition: property dividend

A quick definition of attested copy:

An attested copy is a duplicate of an original document that has been certified as an exact reproduction by the person responsible for issuing or keeping the original. It is a legal way of proving the contents of a writing without having to present the original document. It is also known as a certified copy, exemplified copy, or verified copy.

A more thorough explanation:

An attested copy is a duplicate of an original document that has been certified as an exact reproduction by the officer responsible for issuing or keeping the original. It is also known as a certified copy, exemplified copy, or verified copy.

For example, if you need a copy of your birth certificate for a passport application, you can request an attested copy from the vital records office. The officer will compare the copy to the original and certify that it is a true and accurate reproduction.

In legal proceedings, an attested copy may be admissible as evidence to prove the contents of a writing. This means that if the original document is not available, a certified copy can be used instead.

Overall, an attested copy provides a reliable and official record of important documents, such as birth certificates, marriage licenses, and court orders.

Anyone know how long it takes to get aid package after getting admitted to UChicago or Northwestern?
I’d ask in the t14 chat bc lol it may be a bit until you can get someone who can answer that question here

@syddak: Oof tough spot. Congrats on the As. Did either indicate either via email/mail that they would be following up with aid, and if so, did they provide a time frame? It may be acceptable to email them and indicate seat deposits are fast approaching and you are curious if you can expect further info (aid) from the school to aid u in ur decision..
