Simple English definitions for legal terms

booby trap

Read a random definition: loco rerum immobilium

A quick definition of booby trap:

A booby trap is a dangerous device that is set up to harm or kill anyone who enters it. It could be something like a shotgun that goes off when someone enters a room or dynamite that explodes when a car key is turned. It is illegal to set up a booby trap to protect your property, and if someone is hurt or killed by it, you will be held responsible.

A more thorough explanation:

A booby trap is a device that is set up to harm or kill anyone who enters a certain area or triggers a specific action. This can include things like:

  • A shotgun that goes off when someone enters a room
  • Dynamite that explodes when a car's ignition key is turned

It is important to note that setting up a booby trap to protect your property is illegal, and you can be held liable for any injuries or deaths that occur as a result.

For example, if someone sets up a shotgun to protect their home and a burglar enters and is injured or killed, the person who set up the trap can be charged with a crime.

Another example of a booby trap is a tripwire that is set up to trigger an explosion or other harmful action. This type of trap is often used in military situations to protect bases or other areas.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
