• The border between France and Germany: This international border signifies where French law and sovereignty end and German law and sovereignty begin. For instance, a vehicle manufactured in France must comply with German road safety standards once it crosses into Germany, and individuals crossing this line are subject to each country's immigration and customs regulations.
• The border between the states of Texas and Oklahoma in the United States: This internal border delineates the jurisdictional limits of each state.
