LSDefine

Simple English definitions for legal terms

bribee

Read a random definition: admiralty law

A quick definition of bribee:

Term: BRIBEE

Definition: A bribee is someone who takes a bribe. This means they accept money or gifts in exchange for doing something they shouldn't or for not doing something they should. It's not a good thing to be a bribee because it's dishonest and can be illegal.

A more thorough explanation:

BRIBEE

A bribee is a person who receives a bribe. They are also known as a bribe-taker.

1. The government official was caught as a bribee when he accepted money in exchange for granting a contract to a company.

2. The athlete was disqualified from the competition when it was discovered that he had accepted a bribe from a rival team.

These examples illustrate the definition of a bribee as someone who receives a bribe. In the first example, the government official received money in exchange for granting a contract, which is illegal and unethical. In the second example, the athlete accepted a bribe to intentionally lose the competition, which is also against the rules and unfair to other competitors. Both individuals were bribees because they received something of value in exchange for doing something they were not supposed to do.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
