A quick definition of capitalis plegius:

Capitalis plegius is a Latin term that means "chief pledge" or "surety." In history, it referred to someone who was responsible for ensuring that a debt or obligation was fulfilled. It was also used to describe a person who acted as a guarantor or protector of someone else's interests. Essentially, it was a way of ensuring that people kept their promises and obligations, and that there was someone who could be held accountable if they didn't.

A more thorough explanation:

Capitalis plegius is a Latin term that means "chief pledge" or "surety." In history, it was used to refer to a person who acted as a guarantee or security for a debt or obligation.

For example, in medieval times, a lord might require a vassal to provide a capitalis plegius to ensure that the vassal fulfilled his obligations. The capitalis plegius would be responsible for paying the debt if the vassal failed to do so.

Another example of capitalis plegius can be seen in modern-day bail bonds. When a person is arrested and cannot afford to pay bail, they may seek the help of a bail bondsman. The bail bondsman acts as a capitalis plegius by providing the court with a guarantee that the defendant will appear for their trial. If the defendant fails to appear, the bail bondsman is responsible for paying the full amount of the bail.

Overall, capitalis plegius refers to a person who takes on the responsibility of ensuring that a debt or obligation is fulfilled. This person acts as a guarantee or security for the debt and is responsible for paying it if the debtor fails to do so.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
Give it 4 more weeks at least. Everyone in this chat needs to wait longer.
