conformity hearing

Read a random definition: presumed crime

A quick definition of conformity hearing:

Conformity hearing: A special meeting ordered by a court or government agency to check if a decision or plan follows the rules and laws set by the court or government. This type of hearing is often used in cases related to social services.

A more thorough explanation:

A conformity hearing is a legal proceeding that is ordered by a court or federal agency to ensure that a judgment or plan complies with the law. There are two types of conformity hearings:

  1. Court-ordered conformity hearing: This type of hearing is held to determine whether the judgment or decree prepared by the winning party conforms to the decision of the court. For example, if a court orders a company to pay damages to a plaintiff, a conformity hearing may be held to ensure that the payment is made in accordance with the court's decision.
  2. Federal agency conformity hearing: This type of hearing is held to determine whether a state-submitted plan complies with the requirements of federal law. For example, if a state submits a plan to a federal agency for funding, a conformity hearing may be held to ensure that the plan meets the federal requirements.

Conformity hearings are common in cases involving social services, such as child custody, child support, and welfare benefits.

For instance, if a court orders a parent to pay child support, a conformity hearing may be held to ensure that the parent is paying the correct amount in accordance with the court's decision. Similarly, if a state submits a plan to a federal agency for funding for a social service program, a conformity hearing may be held to ensure that the plan meets the federal requirements for funding.

In summary, a conformity hearing is a legal proceeding that ensures that a judgment or plan complies with the law. It is held to ensure that the winning party or state-submitted plan meets the requirements set forth by the court or federal agency.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
Give it 4 more weeks at least. Everyone in this chat needs to wait longer.
