A quick definition of court recorder:

A court recorder is someone who records everything that is said during a court case. They use a special machine to capture all the words spoken by the judge, lawyers, witnesses, and anyone else who speaks in the courtroom. This helps to create an accurate record of what happened during the trial or hearing.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: A court recorder is a person who records everything that is said during a court proceeding. They use a special machine to create a written transcript of the proceedings.

Example: During a trial, the court recorder sits in the courtroom and listens to everything that is said. They use a stenography machine to type out a record of the proceedings. This record can be used later if there is an appeal or if someone wants to review what was said during the trial.

Another example: In a deposition, the court recorder sits in a conference room and records everything that is said by the witnesses and attorneys. This record can be used later in court if needed.

These examples illustrate how a court recorder is responsible for creating an accurate record of everything that is said during a legal proceeding. This record is important because it can be used later to review what was said or to help with an appeal.
