Simple English definitions for legal terms

design

Read a random definition: Contract Disputes Act

A quick definition of design:

Design: A plan or idea for how something should look or work. It can also mean the intentional decision to do something, like when someone plans to hurt someone else. Design can also refer to the way things are arranged or put together, like in a picture or a building. Sometimes, a design can be protected by law if it is unique and decorative.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: A plan or scheme, purpose or intention combined with a plan, the pattern or configuration of elements in something, or the drawing or depiction of an original plan for a novel pattern, model, shape, or configuration that is chiefly decorative or ornamental.

Examples:

  • A fashion designer creates a plan or scheme for a new clothing line.
  • An architect combines purpose or intention with a plan to design a new building.
  • An artist considers the pattern or configuration of elements in their work of art.
  • A graphic designer creates a drawing or depiction of an original plan for a new logo or website layout.

These examples illustrate the different ways in which design can be used to create something new and unique. Design involves planning and intention, whether it's for a fashion line, a building, a work of art, or a graphic design project. It's about considering the pattern or configuration of elements to create something that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
