A quick definition of L'Association Litteraire et Artistique Internationale:

Term: L'ASSOCIATION LITTERAIRE ET ARTISTIQUE INTERNATIONALE

Definition: The International Association is a group of writers, artists, and others who want to protect copyrights around the world. They made some important rules in 1878 that helped create the Berne Convention. In 1883, they had a meeting in Berne, Switzerland to make a group that could make sure copyrights were respected everywhere. We can call them ALAI for short.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: L'Association Litteraire et Artistique Internationale (ALAI) is an organization that supports international copyright protection for authors, artists, and other creators. In 1878, the Association drafted five resolutions that would become the starting point for the Berne Convention. In 1883, the organization called the first meeting in Berne, Switzerland for the purpose of creating a union to enforce international copyrights.

Example: ALAI works to protect the rights of authors and artists around the world. For example, if a French author writes a book and it is published in the United States, ALAI would work to ensure that the author's rights are protected and they receive fair compensation for their work.

Explanation: ALAI is an organization that advocates for international copyright protection. The example illustrates how ALAI would work to protect the rights of an author whose work is published in a different country. This ensures that creators are fairly compensated for their work and encourages the creation of new works.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)
