A quick definition of latrocinium:

Term: LATROCINIUM

Definition: Latrocinium is a historical term that comes from the Latin word "latro," which means "a robber." It has three meanings:

  1. Stealing or robbery
  2. Something that has been stolen
  3. The right to judge and punish thieves

Overall, latrocinium refers to the act of stealing and the consequences that come with it.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Latrocinium (la-truh-sin-ee-uhm) is a Latin word that means robbery or theft. It can also refer to something that has been stolen or the right to judge and punish thieves.

  • The latrocinium of the bank was a well-planned heist that left the vault empty.
  • The museum was robbed of its most valuable painting, a latrocinium that shocked the art world.
  • In ancient Rome, the latrocinium was a legal term that referred to the right of the state to punish thieves.

These examples illustrate how latrocinium can refer to different aspects of theft. The first two examples show how it can refer to the act of stealing or something that has been stolen. The third example shows how it can refer to the legal right to punish thieves.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
