manufactured home

Read a random definition: banns of matrimony

A quick definition of manufactured home:

A manufactured home is a type of dwelling that can be moved in one or more sections and is at least 8 feet wide or 40 feet long when traveling. When it is set up on a permanent foundation, it must be at least 320 square feet. It has plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical systems and can be used as a home with or without a permanent foundation.

A more thorough explanation:

A manufactured home is a type of dwelling place that is transportable in one or more sections. It is built on a permanent chassis and designed to be used as a dwelling with or without a permanent foundation when connected to the required utilities. It has plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, and electrical systems.

For a structure to be considered a manufactured home, it must meet certain size requirements. When traveling, it must be 8 body feet or more in width or 40 body feet or more in length. When erected on site, it must be 320 or more square feet.

Examples of manufactured homes include:

  • A mobile home that is transported to a new location
  • A modular home that is built in sections and assembled on site

These examples illustrate the definition of a manufactured home because they are both transportable and built on a permanent chassis. They are designed to be used as a dwelling and have the necessary systems for plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, and electricity.
