A quick definition of narcotics:

Term: Narcotics

Definition: Narcotics are drugs that can change the way a person feels or senses things. They can be made from plants or created in a lab. In the United States, narcotics are controlled substances that are regulated by the government. This means that it is against the law to have them without a doctor's permission. If someone is caught with narcotics, they can go to jail. Narcotics can be dangerous and should only be used under the supervision of a doctor.

A more thorough explanation:

Narcotics are drugs that can change the way you feel or dull your senses. They can be made in a lab or taken from plants. In the United States, narcotics are controlled substances and are classified into different schedules based on their potential for abuse and medical use.

Examples of narcotics include:

  • Opium and opiates, like heroin and morphine
  • Cocaine and crack cocaine
  • Methadone and fentanyl

It is illegal to sell or possess narcotics without a prescription from a doctor or dentist. In California, for example, possessing narcotics can result in up to one year in jail.

The examples illustrate the definition because they are all drugs that can be addictive and dangerous if not used properly. They can also have serious side effects and can lead to overdose or death. It is important to only use narcotics under the guidance of a medical professional.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
Give it 4 more weeks at least. Everyone in this chat needs to wait longer.
