Simple English definitions for legal terms

noxious

Read a random definition: literary property

A quick definition of noxious:

Noxious means something that is harmful or dangerous to people or the environment. It can be a substance or material that can cause harm or injury. It is against the law to possess or use noxious substances. For example, in New York, it is illegal to have any material that can generate harmful fumes or gases with the intention of causing harm to people or property. In California, it is against the law to allow noxious weeds to grow on your property. Noxious weeds are plants that can cause harm to agriculture, important native species, or the environment and are difficult to control or get rid of.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Harmful or injurious, usually to human health or the environment. It is against the law to use or possess noxious substances or materials.

For example, in New York, it is illegal to have noxious material, which is defined as any drug or substance that can create offensive, noxious, or suffocating fumes, gases, or vapors. If a person has this material with the intention of using it to harm someone, damage property, or disturb the peace, they can be charged with a crime.

In California, it is against the law to knowingly allow noxious weeds to grow on your property. A noxious weed is any plant species that is troublesome, aggressive, intrusive, detrimental, or destructive to agriculture, silviculture, or important native species, and difficult to control or eradicate.

These examples illustrate how noxious substances or materials can cause harm to people, property, and the environment. Laws are in place to prevent the use or possession of these harmful substances and to protect the public from their negative effects.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
Give it 4 more weeks at least. Everyone in this chat needs to wait longer.
