Simple English definitions for legal terms

A quick definition of odhal:

ODHAL: A word that means the same thing as ODAL. ODAL is a historical term that refers to land that is not subject to feudal duties or burdens. It is also called odel or odhall. The word odal can also be used as an adjective to describe a right that is related to odal land. Another term that has a different meaning is odd-lot, which refers to a worker who is so disabled that they cannot find stable employment in the regular job market and are entitled to workers' compensation benefits under the odd-lot doctrine.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Odhal is a term used in history to describe land that was not subject to feudal duties or burdens. It is also known as odel or odal.

Example: In medieval times, some landowners held odhal land, which meant they did not have to pay feudal taxes or provide military service to their lords.

Explanation: The example illustrates how odhal land was exempt from feudal duties and taxes. Landowners who held odhal land had more freedom and autonomy compared to those who held feudal land.

Related term: Alodium

Example: Alodium is another term used to describe land that is free from feudal obligations.

Explanation: The example shows that alodium and odhal are similar terms that refer to land that is not subject to feudal duties or burdens.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
Give it 4 more weeks at least. Everyone in this chat needs to wait longer.
