Simple English definitions for legal terms

ORP

Read a random definition: Proprietary lease

A quick definition of ORP:

ORP stands for Ordinary, Reasonable, and Prudent. This is the standard that is used in cases where someone is accused of being negligent. It means that a person should act in a way that an ordinary, reasonable, and prudent person would act in the same situation.

On a different note, an orphan is a child who has lost one or both parents. If a child has lost both parents, they are called a full orphan. If a child has lost one parent, they are called a half orphan. A child who has no parents or legal guardian is also considered an orphan.

Lastly, an orphan drug is a medication that is used to treat a rare disease or condition. These drugs are called orphan drugs because they are developed to treat a small number of people, and therefore, are not financially profitable for pharmaceutical companies to produce.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: ORP stands for Ordinary, reasonable, and prudent. It is the standard on which negligence cases are based.

  • If a driver fails to follow ORP while driving, they may be considered negligent if they cause an accident.
  • When a doctor is treating a patient, they are expected to follow ORP in their decisions and actions.

These examples illustrate how ORP is used as a standard to determine negligence in different situations. It is important for individuals in various professions to follow ORP to ensure they are not acting negligently and potentially causing harm to others.

I would say it is a toss up, for how much LSAC charges us for everything they are extremely efficient in processing and sending stuff out BUT with a 30% uptake in applicants and the holidays it may be significantly slower unless it is ran through and processed by a computer program. Even if it takes them longer to process it, not like there is anyone at a school to request and review it after LSAC does their thing
