Simple English definitions for legal terms

polity

Read a random definition: legislative rule

A quick definition of polity:

Polity: A polity is a group of people who have come together to make rules and decisions about how they will live together. It is the way a government is organized to achieve its goals and policies. It can be a small community or a large country, but it is always a group of people who have agreed to work together to make decisions for the common good.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Polity refers to the entire system of government and its policies. It can also refer to a community or group that is politically organized.

  • The United States has a democratic polity, which means that the government is based on the principles of democracy and the people have a say in how the country is run.
  • The European Union is a polity made up of multiple countries that have come together to form a political and economic union.

These examples illustrate how polity refers to the overall organization and structure of a government or community. In the case of the United States, the polity is based on democratic principles, while the European Union is a polity that has been created through the cooperation of multiple countries.

@syddak: Oof tough spot. Congrats on the As. Did either indicate either via email/mail that they would be following up with aid, and if so, did they provide a time frame? It may be acceptable to email them and indicate seat deposits are fast approaching and you are curious if you can expect further info (aid) from the school to aid u in ur decision..
