procuring miscarriage

Read a random definition: even lot

A quick definition of procuring miscarriage:

Procuring miscarriage is when someone intentionally causes a woman to lose her pregnancy before the baby can survive outside of the womb. This is also called abortion. The law allows women to choose to have an abortion before the baby can survive outside of the womb, but after that, the state can limit or prohibit abortion. If someone causes a miscarriage without the woman's consent, it is a crime. If a woman loses her pregnancy naturally, it is called a miscarriage. Sometimes, a woman may need to have an abortion to protect her health or life, and this is called a therapeutic abortion.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Procuring miscarriage is the act of intentionally causing a woman to lose her pregnancy before the fetus is able to survive outside of the womb. This is also known as abortion.

Examples:

  • Induced abortion: This is when a woman or a third party intentionally causes the termination of a pregnancy. This can be done through medication or surgery.
  • Late-term abortion: This is an abortion that is performed during the later stages of pregnancy, usually after the middle of the second trimester.
  • Partial-birth abortion: This is an abortion in which a viable fetus is partially delivered before being destroyed.
  • Spontaneous abortion: This is also known as a miscarriage, which is the natural and unintentional loss of a pregnancy before the fetus is able to survive outside of the womb.
  • Therapeutic abortion: This is an abortion that is carried out to preserve the life or health of the mother.

These examples illustrate the different types of abortions that can be performed intentionally or unintentionally. It is important to note that the legality and availability of abortions vary by country and state.

The "date changes" at Michigan really don't mean anything. We had to do them in undergrad admissions whenever a Georgia applicant picked the country instead of the state, because we'd have to remove the TOEFL requirement and reassign the application from the international application readers.

Classy, does that mean they may look at your application, and that look doesn't necessarily trigger any date change?

@soapy: I don't know for sure about the law school. For undergrad, once the application is complete, it's assigned to a reader the following Monday. If we had to make any changes, it's because a reader saw something that needed to be changed and the application needed to be re-read after that change.

You're welcome. FWIW, I have no idea what's up with the address changes. We didn't have to do any of that, except for the Georgia state vs country kinds of things.

I've heard it theorized that some schools will change the address from "St." --> "Street" as they prepare to send out admissions packets. That's the rumor, anyways.
