promise of marriage

Read a random definition: disseisitrix

A quick definition of promise of marriage:

A promise of marriage is when someone tells another person that they will marry them. A promise is when someone says they will do something and the other person believes them. A promise can be a contract, which means it is a legal agreement that must be followed. However, a promise of marriage is not always legally enforceable. It is like when you promise to share your toys with your friend, but you might change your mind later. A promise of marriage is also called a betrothal or engagement.

A more thorough explanation:

A promise of marriage is when someone assures another person that they will marry them. It is a manifestation of intention to act in a specific way, which another person can understand as a commitment. A promise can be binding and enforceable by law, and it is an essential element of a contract.

For example, if John promises to marry Jane, and Jane relies on that promise to make important life decisions, such as quitting her job or moving to a new city, then John is legally obligated to fulfill his promise. If he fails to do so, Jane can sue him for breach of promise of marriage.

However, a promise of marriage is not the same as an engagement ring or a proposal. It is a serious commitment to marry, and it can have legal consequences if broken.

I wish that wearing a mask when sick stuck around as an okay thing like it is in the rest of the world, not all of us have enough sick days to be ditching work.

One manager came in sick wearing a mask, got roasted and stopped wearing it that day. The entire office has been cycling sickness for two weeks now. It may not be super effective but it may help in slowing the spread during meetings when we have to be so close
