Simple English definitions for legal terms

rex

Read a random definition: Agriculture - State statutes

A quick definition of rex:

Term: REX

Definition: REX is a word that means "king". It is usually written with a capital letter. It can also be the official title of a king. In a monarchy, REX can also refer to the side that represents the king in criminal proceedings. It is abbreviated as R and is similar to the title REGINA.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Rex (usually capitalized) refers to:

  1. A king
  2. The official title of a king
  3. The prosecution side (representing the king) in criminal proceedings in a monarchy

For example, in ancient Rome, Julius Caesar was a rex, or king, before the Roman Republic was established. In modern times, the British monarch is known as the rex or queen, and the prosecution in a criminal case in the UK is represented by the Crown, which is a symbol of the monarch's authority.

The examples illustrate how the term rex is used to refer to a monarch or king, and how it is associated with the prosecution side in a monarchy's legal system.

Do the admissions offices close on Veterans Day?
I think someone here was really interested in Cornell Law. I forgot their username now but I just talked to the Cornell admissions rep at the Houston LSAC fair and apparently 2/3 of people who interview at Cornell ultimately get in.

I wonder what it’s dependent on? Are the 2/3 chosen on stats, or interview performance, or more holistically?
I'm honestly not sure
