Simple English definitions for legal terms

subagent

Read a random definition: battered woman

A quick definition of subagent:

A subagent is a person who is authorized to act on behalf of another person, called the principal. They are like a helper for the main agent. The subagent can do some of the work for the agent, but they still have to follow the rules set by the principal. The principal is responsible for what the subagent does.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: A subagent is a person to whom an agent has delegated the performance of an act for the principal. It is a person designated by an agent to perform some duty relating to the agency. If the principal consents to a primary agent's employment of a subagent, the subagent owes fiduciary duties to the principal, and the principal is liable for the subagent's acts.

Example: A real estate agent hires a subagent to show a property to a potential buyer. The subagent owes fiduciary duties to the principal, which is the real estate agent, and the principal is liable for the subagent's acts.

Explanation: In this example, the real estate agent is the primary agent, and the subagent is the person hired by the primary agent to show the property to a potential buyer. The subagent owes fiduciary duties to the principal, which means that the subagent must act in the best interest of the principal. If the subagent breaches this duty, the principal is liable for the subagent's acts.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
