Transit refers to the process or act of moving something or someone from one location to another. It describes the journey or passage during which goods or individuals are being transported.

• Imagine a manufacturing company shipping a large order of electronic components from its factory in China to an assembly plant in Mexico. The entire period during which these components are on cargo ships, being transferred at ports, and then transported by truck to their final destination is considered their time in transit. This illustrates the movement of goods from one place to another.

• Consider a person flying from London to New York for a business meeting. The duration of their journey, from the moment they board the aircraft in London until they disembark in New York, is their period of transit. This example highlights the movement of a person across different locations.
