undocumented immigrant

Read a random definition: second-permittee doctrine

A quick definition of undocumented immigrant:

An undocumented immigrant is someone who came to the United States without permission or stayed in the country after their visa expired. They don't have legal status, which means they can't work legally or become citizens. Immigration officers can arrest and detain them, and they may be forced to leave the country if they are found to be inadmissible or deportable. There are over 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States, and only a small percentage are removed each year. Some undocumented immigrants may be able to change their status by claiming asylum or temporary protected status.

A more thorough explanation:

An undocumented immigrant is a person who enters the United States without proper documentation or stays in the country after their visa has expired. This means they do not have legal permission to live or work in the United States.

For example, someone who comes to the United States on a student visa but drops out of school or starts working without authorization becomes an undocumented immigrant.

Undocumented immigrants face many challenges, including the risk of being arrested and deported by immigration officers. They are not allowed to work legally and do not have a path to citizenship.

There are over 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States, and only a small percentage are removed each year. Some undocumented immigrants may be able to change their status by claiming asylum or temporary protected status.

This is obviously not true for UVA. Past years show they don't send any non A results until December
