A quick definition of work-in-process:

Work-in-process refers to a product that is still being made or put together, but is not yet finished. It is also called work-in-progress.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Work-in-process refers to a product that is currently being made or put together, but is not yet finished. It is also known as work-in-progress.

Example: A car that is being assembled on a factory line is an example of work-in-process. The car has not yet been completed and is still missing some parts, but it is in the process of being made.

Explanation: Work-in-process is a term used in manufacturing to describe products that are in the middle of being made. These products are not yet finished, but they are not raw materials either. They are somewhere in between. The example of a car being assembled on a factory line illustrates this concept well. The car is not yet complete, but it is also not just a pile of metal and plastic. It is in the process of being made into a finished product.

@mastermonkey45: duke basically requires an application in sept/oct-ish im not sure when u applied. Penn notoriously yield protects applicants who they think will be more likely to get accepted to better peer schools. Chi (just like the other 2) is one of the most competitive schools in the nation so being a hair above medians may not set u apart as much as it would at a lower ranked school
No duke response in today's wave :(
Applied in Feb, cooked
No UGA either, it's the 7th week
Do we think that this means we could expect an a wave later?
14:39
how do u know the wave is over yet
Idk, hoping I hear back from someone today at least
Hoping UGA since their timeframe ends in only a week
When do those schools usually send out waves as far as you all know?
keep in mind a lot has changed in the past week numbers wise, but this gave me a good idea of what schools will have real waves and which are done

i think the general consensus is 5% chance of getting off of any waitlist, with some schools having much greater movement and some having none at all

I got into Cornell off WL in about two weeks
Like 1-5% of people get off waitlists in the T14. GTown being the upper end of that. Duke probably closer to 1%.
